On today's episode, the first in our new hourlong timeslot, we welcome Scott Nadelson, author of the new novel Trust Me, from Portland’s Forest Avenue Press. Scott’s books include the novel Between You and Me, the memoir The Next Scott Nadelson: A Life in Progress, and six collections of short stories, most recently While It Lasts, winner of the Donald L. Jordan Prize for Literary Excellence.

Scott’s work has appeared in a variety of magazines and literary journals, including Ploughshares, STORY, The Southern Review, New England Review, Glimmer Train, and The Best American Short Stories. And he’s earned a variety of accolades, including the Reform Judaism Fiction Prize, the Great Lakes Colleges Association New Writers Award, and an Oregon Book Award. He teaches at Willamette University, where he is Hallie Brown Ford Chair in Writing, and in the Rainier Writing Workshop MFA Program at Pacific Lutheran University.

In the words of writer Joe Wilkins: “Trust Me is, simply, one of the most affecting novels I've read in years. In the midst of busy days, the book waiting for me on my bedside shelf, I found myself missing these characters—how wise and wounded they are, how silly and confused, how fundamentally human. I was hoping for them. Trust Me is a book that will have you hoping for us all.”
