december, Winter, and a Tribute to Barabara Dane
It’s December and winter is upon us. This show features songs for December and winter after a sampling of great recent releases, a tribute to the late great Barabara Dane, and songs from some longtime Portland artists.
Barbara Dane was a wonderfully eclectic singer who died in October at age 97. We honor her legacy with a set from the wonderful compilation of her music aptly entitled “Hot Jazz, Cool Blues, and Hard Hitting Songs.”
Featured artists include Eva Cassidy, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Willie Nelson, Billy Strings, Eric Bibb, Barbara Dane, Kate Power and Steve Einhorn, Lauren Sheehan and Terry Robb, Tony Furtado and Alison Krauss, Norman Blake, John McCutcheon, and Gordon Lightfoot.
