On this episode of Voices for the Animals, host Courtney Scott interviews Almira Tanner, who will fill us in on the upcoming Animal Liberation Conference in Berkeley, CA, May 29 through June 4, 2019. Almira is a core organizer with the grassroots animal rights network Direct Action Everywhere (DxE). In her role as organizer, she coordinates DxE's protests and campaigns and leads the planning committee for the Animal Liberation Conference. She is currently facing seven felony charges in Sonoma County as a result of her activism.
This conference is the largest grassroots animal rights conference in the world. It is the best place to learn from experts in open rescue, bearing witness, disruption and community organizing, meet incredible activists from around the world, take part in high-impact actions and vigils, and empower activists to be the best activist for change they can be. Previous attendees have called the conference "the best week of the year!"
